Congress General Secretary Organization KC Venugopal said, “For the last one week, Congress party workers all over India have been taking part in the movement. Today all the district committees are protesting and the Home Minister is submitting a memorandum to the President of India through the District Collectors. Will demand Amit Shah’s resignation.”

SP will hold PDA discussion program

Bahujan Samaj Party workers in Lucknow protested in many parts of the state demanding the resignation of Amit Shah. BSP chief Mayawati had earlier described Shah’s remarks as extremely sad for Ambedkar’s followers. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party has announced to organize ‘PDA Charcha’ program in all the assembly constituencies of Uttar Pradesh from 26 December to 25 January. Party’s chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said that the aim of this initiative is to protect the Constitution and propagate the ideals of Dr. BR Ambedkar.

SP said in a statement, “The statement given by the Union Home Minister in Parliament was derogatory towards the creator of the Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar.” The Samajwadi Party says that dominant, feudal forces have historically opposed Ambedkar’s principles of equality because they challenged their traditional authority and sought to empower oppressed and deprived communities.

TMC’s stance

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh also demanded Amit Shah to resign or apologize and said the BJP needs to clarify its stand. Kunal Ghosh said, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked Dr. B.R. Many parties including TMC condemned and opposed the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah who has insulted the spirit of Ambedkar and the Constitution.

BJP came under pressure

Every party including TMC is protesting and after all this BJP is under pressure. BJP will have to take a stand and clarify its stand before the country. BJP gave a strong reply to the opposition’s attack. Almost all the BJP came out in defense of Chief Minister Amit Shah and attacked Congress for distorting the statement of the Union Home Minister.

‘Congress has a history of insulting Dalits’

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Demanded an apology from the Congress for continuously insulting Bharat Ratna Baba Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has worked to create the country of Baba Saheb’s dreams. UP CM said that Congress has a history of insulting Dalits and the underprivileged in the country.

Protests and scuffles outside Parliament

Last week, during the protest outside Parliament after Amit Shah’s remarks, there was a fierce scuffle between the two parties, in which two BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were injured. Both parties alleged that their party members were manhandled. Later, Delhi Police registered an FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi based on BJP’s complaint.
